When old jack springs are removed, the glue never comes completely out. Remaining glue can cause your new jack springs to sit too high which will cause the springs to buckle and more than likely popping out after installation. Replacing jack springs involves a lot of disassembly - doing it right once the first time around is made possible with a specialized tool like this.
This hand tool makes it easy to control the amount of force you use and not chew away any wood in the process. When using this tool, be sure to twist with light force to remove only glue- add pressure as needed.
