Hammer rest rail felt
This felt is what the hammers rest on, when they are down and in the resting position. This felt is also what the hammers land on every time they return from hitting a reed. The hammers falling on this rail can be a source of noise. Also, this felt can become uneven over time. Replacing this felt is a good idea if you are planning to do a very thorough restoration.

Installing this strip will require removing the old hammer rest rail cloth, and cleanly removing any old glue or residue. Then this strip can be glued in place using either PVC-E glue (which can be optionally added to this product), hide glue, or another glue of choice.
